Possibility of Pancreatic Cancer (Please help)

Hi all,

I have 2 potentially very serious problems and would dearly love some feedback. A long post I know but would welcome some comments.

All kinds of bowel problems back in July, Stomach pain and general discomfort. Was referred to an expert who performed a Colonoscopy and a Endoscopy and looked at the stomach, Duodenum etc. Was also given a complete blood count.

All came back normal but was found positive for Helibactor Pylori.

Since I had the colonoscopy I found my urine tends to be more darker and foamy - Specialist says thats ok?

Question for anyone:

If I had Cancer of the pancreas would he have found it with these tests?

Secondly

Since same period constant suffering of some something sharp etc stuck in my throat. Dr. said it was probably Acid Reflux and linked to the above. However my right tonsil kept becoming infected and making it a bit painful to swallow - Then it would go down and maybe the sensation would go for 4-7 days then return. Seemed to get better when I ate?

Went back for H Pylori result to be told I still had it and put on another course of tablets. The Dr. said he doubted that the lump was due to Acid Reflux as the course for H Pylori shrinks the amount of acid in the stomach so would stop the symptoms.

Referred to an ENT guy who looked down my throat etc. said it was stress and possibly recurrent tonsillitis too. Although I never have the normal symptoms of tonsillitis of temperature etc. and it only ever seems to be the right tonsil that suffers. He said well to stop this happening lets take them out but the sensation would be likely to remain as he thought it was psychological as he sees this may times a week. he did a complete blood count which was all clear (3 month ago)

Deep within me I was not happy I was worried I have something sinister lurking as I have had poor health the past year. Namely shingles, Hives. I also suffered light headeness/dizziness 13 months ago - An MRI was done of the brain and was clear. I also had a chest infection in March and had an X-Ray first one showed possible dark matter then a follow up one a week later showed all clear.

I went to another ENT guy last week for a second opinion he looked down my throat and said to relax I dont have cancer etc. but what he can do is operate on my nose, clear my sinuses etc and that should help me mentally. He said it was in his case 70% psychological and 30% physically. He said when he operates he will have good look at my tonsil, biopsy it and if he is very unhappy he will take it out but prefers not too as a tonsillectomy and nose surgery is torture. He said the best way to feel for cancers is with the fingers as cancers are hard.

I awoke to found he had removed a tonsil. He said it was infected and firm and rather than just take a biopsy he decided to remove the whole thing as it was indeed infected. This left me worried because I associate firm with hard. I questioned him and spoke of my concerns and he said that in his opinion it was not hard and that when he saw the lump in the tonsil it did not look very apparent to be cancer. He felt it to be more infection but said in his opinion there is a 10% - 20% chance it could be cancer as I dont fit the usual profile for tonsil cancer as I dont drink too much and I never smoke. This to me is a very high chance I have it and I am scared out of my head and wont know the results until next week.

My overall concern is that last week I was feeling very light headed and my armpits were painful and I feel small painful areas in my chest (no lumps visible) I feel like I have Cancer of the tonsil which has spread to my lymph nodes, hence the painful armpits/chest etc. I am also scared that it has spread to the Pancreas or vice versa.

I have in total had 3 blood tests (complete blood counts) in the past 4 months. All normal although I had some Liver Function tests done in Aug that showed very slight elevations and the Dr. said in his opinion it was nothing to worry about. I am of average weight and have actually put on 6 lbs in the past 12 months rather than lose weight.

So far I have had my Brain Mri scanned 13 months ago which was clear, chest X-Rayed back in March which was clear, Colonsocopy and Endoscopy in July which was clear. Could cancer spread to these organs since this period and be symptomatic?

I am at my wits end. I have children twin girls who are two and a half and feel like I will be dead in 3 months.

Can someone help me here?

Cheers

Re: Possibility of Pancreatic Cancer (Please help)

Oh dear you poor thing, I know what you are going through. I have been suffering from health anxiety for more than 30 years. I doubt very much that you have tonsil cancer. I know someone who did have it in the early stages and his symptoms were swollen glands in the neck and he was very tired. The symptoms you are now experiencing could be somatic. I have had so many symptoms over the years that have been somatic. I will give you an example, I was convinced I was pregnant even though that's not possible. I could feel the baby moving, I couldn't stand to wear a seatbelt across my stomach. The only way I could be convinced that I wasn't was a trip to the Doc and a pregnancy test. Which was negative of course and then the symptoms went away. I've had many of these episodes where I've actually been in agony, or so I thought. I hope this helps. Goodluck with your test results....keep us updated.

Re: Possibility of Pancreatic Cancer (Please help)

Hi there, those tests would not show pancreatic cancer. You would need an ultra sound, or ct scan of your pancreas. There is also a blood test that may show issues with your pancreas, I think it is CA 19.

Sounds like your other issues may be from the hp.

Re: Possibility of Pancreatic Cancer (Please help)

Hi VH,

I am tired and my neck is swollen, yet the ENT guy and Doc's say that is due to Tonsillitis

I had a blood test done back on July 7th to check the pancreas and the reading was 65 and was told normal is below 115

Today is possibly the day I get the biopsy results of my Tonsils where the Dr. said there was a 10% - 20% chance of cancer.

Please Pray for me for clear results...

Just found this thread. I feel for the symptoms and stress through which you are going now (I can sure relate to some of those symptoms, too). Was the result of your test all clear? Please let me know. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Hang in there.

Tonsil was clear (thank God) Although the Doctor said he was very concerned about it when he took it out

Re: Possibility of Pancreatic Cancer (Please help)

Fantastic news, but I can't say I'm surprised. Light head/ dizziness is one of the first things I get when my anxiety rears its ugly head. Maybe you should consider getting some help for your anxiety. I'm on meds, I don't like taking them but they help me a lot.
Keep us updated on how you're going. All the best.

Re: Possibility of Pancreatic Cancer (Please help)

Cancer is not painful. You would not know you had cancer in your lymph nodes from pain. My best friend was diagnosed with Lymphoma last may. She had actual tumors pop up everywhere. They are not painful until they start pressing on nerves and tissue. The things you are talking about are very rare. I think that you are over thinking this a little bit. You can creat any symptom you can think of in your head.
