Hi, Seven family members died from pancreatic cancer, so when they discovered my pre-malignant cyst 3 years ago, it was a no-brainer to have my pancreas removed. They also removed my spleen, duodenum, 1/2 of my stomach, part of my small intestine. My gallbladder and appendix had already been removed along with my uterus and ovaries....so now my donor card on my drivers license is useless. They will open me up and say "we've been duped, she's hollow." Although life isn't easy, the insulin pump, great family support and a positive attitude get me through the rough days. It's amazing how many "medical" personnel will argue with me and claim that I can't live without a pancreas. Yep, just like a septic tank, I toss in the enzymes to digest the food and we work around the diet. Every day is a gift and I believe that I'm providing research for those people down the road who may be in the same predicament as me. If you're considering the surgery.....don't wait. The only reason I'm "Flabbergasted" is because I've recently discovered that my former employer has issued W-2's in error. Although they paid for 50% of my LTD premium, I purchased an additional plan "after tax" for another 16 2/3 coverage. Now, going back 10 years to have them re-issue new W-2's is a challenge. Any tips anyone? Thanks and keep up the hope.
Sorry, but I don't have any tips for you. Just wanted to say WOW! Never thought that was possible. You're amazing to say the least. But. . . how do you actually feel?
Unfortunately since the employer made the mistake he will have to amend it. Good luck on that. So glad you are here and had the "guts" to do what you did to save your life! Sincerely, searchin
