A friend sent me this article from the Phila******a Daily News, I found it really insulting to anyone who's had prostate cancer. Bill Conlin, one of their sports columnists, makes a crack at Marlins' Manager Jack McKeon, who's in his 70s. "While the Marlins squirted champagne, McKeon was thankful he was able to squirt, period" (about the Marlin's World series win, 2003). Here's the whole article, the whole thing is insulting, but that's by far the worst line http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/sports/12110940.htm
Now, I don't know if McKeon ever had problems with his prostate, but I don't find it funny that some guy is taking cheap shots about this. The editors of the paper let it get published, it should never have gotten past the editing room.
I'm going to write the paper and ask for an apology from Conlin. Funny's funny, and this is not. Here's the info if anyone feels the same way I do, if more than one person writes in there's a chance they'll actually take it seriously.
I'm sending it to opinion and sports, maybe one of them will read it. This info's from the paper's web site.
