| Mood swings after Prostate removed?
Hi;
My husband, age 58, had his prostrate surgically removed 1 year ago due to cancer. Background: Two years ago he was not feeling well and had PSA testing which was high. They did a biopsy, but was negative. 6 months later he was still feeling extremely tired so I had him see another dr. They did PSA testing and again, it was high. So they did biopsy and it was postive - listed as a 9 - advanced prostrate cancer. He underwent hormone therepy 3 months prior to the surgery. At the time of the surgery, it had not spread - thank goodness - and he seemed to recover well. He is being tested every 3 months and his last PSA was 0 ! We are so thankful.
Problem we are having is he is so moody and is very quick to explode about anything. He was not like this prior to his illness. Even our kids are aware of the change. I never know when he is going to explode about anything. I have asked him to go see his dr - but he insists its not him - it's us. I realize he has gone thru alot with the surgery. We are also financially having a struggle and I was diagnosed with RSD 6 months ago - so there is alot of stress. I just thought I would ask if this is normal for the mood swings after surgery of this kind - I don't know what to do. Sorry this is so long - thanks for the input.
