Unhappy Pain when peeing

I had a radical prostatectomy robotic on January 5, 2009. While my continence in generally good, peeing is painful with a painful pinching sensation at the tip of my penis whenever I am about to go. Also, my penis goes left when peeing. I've had two urine tests, both of which have been negative for infection. My urologist doesn't seem unduly concerned although I haven't seen him since the surgery and he doesn't seem too available. Any suggestions on what this might be or how long it will continue for? It's beginning to be a major concern.

Thanks.

The surgeon should be more available to answer your post-operation questions in my opinion. I'd not give up-- ask to speak to his nurse or assistant and let them know your issues/questions and pin them down on when they will respond.

I had high dose radiation about a year ago and for about the last 6mo's having extreme pain when urinating. my doctor put me on 800mg 3xday of ibuprofen for 10days, got my pain level down from 10+ to a 6 but still would like to get GONE. good luck keep in touch if your people come up with a solution.

I have had my catheter out for 13 days and have seen only very minor improvement. I change diapers about 4 times a day, (I know now why babies stop crying when they are changed). I am just starting to urinate a couple of times a night. So I hope that is a sign of improvement. I have a ton of wierd symptoms in regards to urinating including the ones you described. I have allot of burning itching as well. I call the Dr. he says it's all normal. I also can't sit on hard chairs or stand for prolonged periods of time due to pain in my testicles and penis. (feels like the catheter is still in) So I mark it all upto the heeling process. I hope I'm right. I had a catheter in prior to my TURP as well and I recall a sensation in my penis as if the catheter was still in for weeks after, on and off. It is also painfull to orgasm. Hurts from under my testicles to the entire surrounding area including my rectum. I'm a mess, I'm trying to be patient but 13 days of diapers feels like a year. I just returned from a Napa trip, the wine seems to make me not worry as much but I also filled up my diapers twice as fast, very little Kegel while under the influence.
I hope this helps.
Bill

WOW, after reading these posts I think I am a very lucky bloke. 69 years old and a PSA of 2.5 and no problems. Not sure if it is the Australian Blue Swimmer crabs or Red Wine, but I will keep doing everything. Good luck to all you guys in trouble.....Jay Ar.
