| 21 days post Brachytherapy
Just an update on my journey through this cancer thing. I hope it helps those of you trying to decide what treatment is right for you.
I had my Brachytherapy 21 days ago and all is going very good. The day of, and a couple days after the implant was a little tender but very tolerable. I was able to pee about three hours after the implant so I didn't need to go back in for a catheter. I cant tell you how happy I was for that. The next morning went for a cat scan to insure all the seeds were placed in the correct location and that was all good. So far I have had very minor side effects from the Brachytherapy and as I understand it, the half life is 21 days so I should be over the hump. I do notice a sensation and mild frequency, but rarely have to get up at night to pee.
I had my last Hormone shot two weeks ago and so far haven't noticed any of the effects I had with the first injection and hope they don't come back.
I did take Jims advise and started to exercise and my mood and stamina seems to be better. I'll try to keep it up Jim, (IADT3since2000) and thanks again for all of your imput.
I see Dr. Grimm on the 13 of December for a follow up and should start EBRT in January. I hope the next treatment goes as well as the implant did. I'll let you guys know how that turns out.
Take care
Mark
