I had advanced prostate cancer 6 yrs ago at the age of 42. It was a gleason 9 and doubling ever 5 weeks. I was treated first by cryo then radiation then three years of hormones. I have not been on medications for almost two years, my psa is .01 and has been. I am writing because last week I had blood in my urine belived to be a kidney stone. I had a ct scan done and they found the stone in my ureter but they also found a 1 cm nodule on my adrenal gland noted to be most likely an adrenal adenoma plus I have some pelvic phleboliths. Could this be cancer related to the prostate? I have an appointment tomorrow with the urologist for the stone but my family doctor says I should see an endo about the adenoma. I spoke to them and was told they are making appointments for April. My cancer doctors are at MD Anderson. do you think I should call them about this?
Why not call the MD Anderson folks? You could get a quick and authoritative answer.
My somewhat savvy layman's view is that it's unlikely to be a prostate cancer metastasis because of your very low PSA of 0.01. A prostate metastasis would produce some PSA in almost every case, and 0.01 (and stable!) seems too little to be pumped out by a PC met, even a small one.
