I'm glad I found this forum, alot of good information here. I've been reading and talking to others for months and listening to their stories and how they were able to get thru this tough time.
I'm very anxious and positive at the same time to get this Thursday past me. I'll be having the robotic surgery and pray it's all gotten, but do understand it may not be the end of my pc journey. I'm very thankfull for all the people that have over the years gotten us all to a point that there is hope and every day that goes by we have better ways to treat this terrible disease.
It's hard to believe how many people around you are close to someone that is or has been treated for pc. I went from not knowing what a pca test was 4 months ago to telling everyone I know to get checked out! I'm only 44 so I'm very glad my Doctor decided to run the test early!

Surgery went well Thursday, the doctor was very pleased with how everything turned out. I came home Saturday afternoon very little pain, just have to get used to this catheter hanging out with me for a week.
I hope to meet with my urologist next week to go over the results of the final pathology report.
I expected more pain after surgery, like with my hernia operation a year ago. My scores going in were psa 6.5, stage T1c and 12 core biopsy with 1 positive, gleason 4+4. The catheter isn't painfull, just a weird feeling, hope it's able to come out in a week! What a crazy 4 months it's been from being diagnosed to all the reading, learning, appointments and decision making.
Well, my surgery was 2 weeks ago and I feel good, ready to get back to work! I met with my urologist/surgeon last week to go over the final pathology report and all was good. My Gleason going in was 4+4, Gleason after surgery 4+3 with negative margins. 7 lymph nodes taken from one side and 5 lymph nodes from the other all negative.
My surgeon and his team were great, I can't say enough good about them! I go back in 3 months for a blood test.

This down graded means "Better". Hope you recover the soonest and that all returns to normalcy, to close this chapter in your life.
Merry Christmas.

Thanks Loumer, I'm doing good! It's been 4 weeks since surgery and I'm back to work(went back last week)still not lifting anything just been taking it very easy. Jim, not sure what you mean by rehabilitation? My instructions were to do keggel exercises, no lifting and see him at week 12. I'm still amazed at the way things went, so smooth and today looking at my stomach, you really can't tell anything was done. So, yes still wearing the pads, no big deal but the leaking has improved alot at week 4. My doctor told me to start the blue pill at week 10, not sure why others started 2 weeks before surgery. I've been able to have sex without the pill but could have used the help. I've had total faith in my doctor from day one do I'm gonna stay with what he says. Sorry for the one long paragraph, on my phone and it's not cooperating! Thanks and any more information that can help would be great. Thanks, Jeff

Jeff, you are doing it the right way. Your doctor’s schedule is fine and you should follow his instructions. Many guys just want to try it the soonest, and some doctors recommend the use of the pump to avoid atrophy.
One day after surgery I also felt that urge but the first try was on the 4th week. I hope the kegels will help with the incontinence.
After surgery I was recommended to walk as much as I could. It helps the healing and recuperation from surgery medications, etc. Your work may be a good substitute for any physical exercise.
I would recommend you to get a control on your Diet. You can search for foods and supplements that are “friendly” to you but an “enemy” to any recurrence.
Wishing you get Zeros in your PSA and that you enjoy life to the most.
