I read a post about this medication which is a combination anti-cancer chemotherapy drug, which has hormonal therapy features. Says it is used to treat prostate cancer spread.

Has anyone expeirenced using this and what if so was the benefit?

Hi Boogee,

This drug has been around for a long time. I am not that familiar with it, but I know that some oncologists use it in combination with other drugs for patients with advanced prostate cancer that are not responding to usual therapies. Dr. Robert Leibowitz ("Dr. Bob") has written informal papers for patients about his use of this drug as part of a four drug combo, for instance.

My recollection is that Emcyt was highly regarded early on, but I believe it was rough on patients and enthusiasm cooled. I would not swear to that.

Thanks Jim,

I read Fred Lee MD a Urologists has survived PC for 30 years, and still using the drug EMCYT once daily.
I thought it may have been the case of problems with this drug due to nowione ever mentioning it, however I will ask my Dr. at UCSF if it still in use.
My husband is responding so far to HT and has just started, a couple of weeks ago.

Any thoughts on radiation to 1 met spot on T11 spine?????
