Husband was in the hospital for a week with a c-diff infection caused by prolonged use of antibiotics from the catheter removal after the surgery. He is currently experiencing nausea and diarrhea again. Is anyone aware of any connection? He was told that there is a 30-40% of it not being gone after one dose of the (very expensive) antibiotic used to treat it.
[QUOTE=Tall Allen;4960026]What may work better and is a lot cheaper is a fecal transplant. The antibiotics have killed off all his bacterial flora that would normally keep the C. difficile in check. They need to be replaced.
Just looked it up. That is way up there on the icky scale! But then, so is most of this disease! Thanks for the info!
