The best care a PCa male patient receives is that from our other “halves”; the Wives or Partners.
In fact it is rare to hear about someone that has accepted the positive biopsy results with no dubious feelings. It is the comfort and words of wisdom from our wives that leads us to face the reality. They suffer as much but they are quicker in accepting the pure facts.
You girls become a sort of “Angels” to us and your constant care is part of our survival. Surely some guys do not like to admit it but I believe that many miss you a lot when visiting the doctors alone after the diagnosis.
Unfortunately in this forum we cannot share all our private feelings. There are understandable reasons to limit what one can share. But let me tell you that your exchange of information on the experiences you had in the follow up of your and your friends husband’s cases is helping many newbies and survivors reading the posts.
My wife is my guarding angel but I have had others on the other side of this keyboard along my PCa journey. A special one in 2001 was Jacquie Strax a webby and the wife of a patient that answered my pleas. I am grateful for the advices she gave me.
I am glad to know about your “trio” efforts in your cases and I am hopeful for your continuous participation in the PCa community.
Best wishes for your husbands’ successes.
