| Cocoa Flavanols... angiogenic cells
This may be of interest to men undergoing hormone or radiation therapy. I read this article on cocoa flavanols:
University of California - San Francisco (2010, July 6). Cocoa flavanols improve vascular and blood pressure measures for coronary artery.
Since damage to blood vessels is a cause of impotence from hormone and radiation therapies it may be beneficial to have a cup of "natural" cocoa every day.
Dutch or alkalized process destroys the flavanols so it is necessary to consume "natural" cocoa. One common brand of natural cocoa starts with and H. I prepare my drink with skim milk, a couple of rounded or heaping teaspoons of natural cocoa, and sweeten to taste with sugar or sugar substitute.
Another article detailed a study of flavanol rich cocoa and dementia which may also be of interest:
American Heart Association (2012, August 9). Consuming flavanol-rich cocoa may enhance brain function.
Cheers! Drink up guys.
