That must have been quite a shock, but because your PSA never got to undetectable levels after your RP, you knew that there was something left in there. What did your post-RP pathology reports say? Were margins positive? Lymph nodes? Gleason score? Extent of involvement?
Usually they would start hormone therapy right away and follow it up with a course of radiation after a couple of months. They may sometimes recommend continuing the hormone therapy afterwards for a few months or up to two years, depending on the Gleason score and other risk factors. Hopefully, the radiation can clean up what the RP missed.
