Had the robotic surgery in September 2011 and pain ever since. When I wake during the night to urinate it burns to the point I have to apply ice. Then usually between 3 and 5 AM, I get "pinching' penile pain. I use moist heat (heating pad on low for this). Then during the day I have painful urination and often urethral burning. I've been on Pyridium which doesn't help at all. My surgeon prescribed Uribel but since I take Remeron there's the possibility of developing seritonin syndrome (too much serotonin) since the Uribel contains methelene blue which is an MAOI. My uro told me yesterday to not take the risk but I'm talking to my therapist who prescribes my Remeron to see if I may be able to take the Uribel. My uro has completely given up on me and said I'd probably be in pain for the rest of my life (not what I wanted to hear). He referred me to a very reputable pain mgmt. doc who has tried gabapentin, Lyrica, and 2 different kinds of nerve blocks, none of which has helped the pain. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this situation. On the positive side my PSA is 0.00 but the often excruciating pain has left me feeling pretty hopeless. Would appreciate any advice.
