HPV and anal/vulva cancer

I don't understand why doctors will not test the skin on vulva along with an anal pap automatically if you have been diagnosed with high risk HPV and moderate or high cervical dysplasia???

Why isn't this routinely done? There is a relation between them all! It angers me. I have had intense vulva/anal itching for years now after a LEEP procedure to remove cervical dysplasia. I continue to test negative for HPV yearly... But every time I bring up the itching, they give me a steroid cream, say they see no lesions and it's fine. But dysplasia does not show lesions at first!

Why wouldn't a doctor test that if you persist! THEY WILL NOT FOR ME.

Re: HPV and anal/vulva cancer

Well I think you read my previous posts, I had constant itch for years and no doctor checked for dyspasia until now. My only symptoms were the itch no lesions at all, I had the vinegar type wash then a biopsy and ended up with vin 1 and 2. Are you seeing a gyno dr? or just your reg dr? it took me alot of drs to get this diagnosis, but I would go in and insist on a wash test or a biopsy, take as much info as you can find.

Re: HPV and anal/vulva cancer

Misty, I see a gyno. What kind of doctor did it take for you? What happens if you have VIN 1 or 2? Wouldn't they completely remove it like they do with cervical dysplasia? Cut in and marginally get it all removed?
