Hoping I can get somewhat of an idea before I go in to have my hemorrhoid looked at. I've had some blood in my stools occasionally for about 2ish years (Always red/fresh). I had a subpar diet during that time (low in fiber etc), but I recently became a vegan and have been eating in much better ways. Anyways, I went into the doctor for it and he diagnosed it as a hemorrhoid and said I should not be worried and said if I felt like it was bothering me to get it examined by a specialist. I have the appointment coming up, but I've began to become much more worried.
My bowel movements have become somewhat inconsistent. Sometimes I will have one and 15 minutes later have another, and then another. This is not all the time, but sometimes. When that does happen, I experience fairly severe discomfort, a stinging-like sensation. Also, more recently, I've been experiencing this feeling like there still is some matter to excrete, but it is not able to pass. That had me very worried as it sounds like cancer ....

I also have had more gas then I felt normal in the past few months, but that may be to switching my diet? Anyways, does this sound like rectal cancer? How can I talk to my doctor and make sure that he isn't writing this off as hemorrhoids if it is much more severe?
