Thumbs up Colonic Irrigation after colostomy

Just wishing all those who have suffered from rectal cancer and had to undergo a colostomy that, rather than having to use bags all the time, you can irrigate. I found that I only needed to do this every other day and never had to endure having to suffer the embarrassment of leaks etc.
Please feel free to ask me any questions as I have been doing this for over 10 years now and appear to know a great deal more about it (having had to solve irrigation-related problems on my own) than most specialised nurses do.
Best wishes.

Re: Colonic Irrigation after colostomy

Ive had a colostomy for 2 years and have never irrigated. Luckily Ive only had a couple of mishaps. I am a very active person and would love to know more about this. I generally change my appliance every other day. Not too much maitenance, unless I eat something that doesnt sit right.
