scar still hurts - Cancer: Skin Message Board

Hi I had a mole removed 3 times the last time they went very deep and very long about 2inches. I was very close to melanoma, but they got it all. The problem is that now a month and a half later the scar is still very tender to touch and is very dark red, dry and itchy.It is under my arm so my bra hits it all the time. Can someone please tell me what to put on it too make it not so dry and itchy.

I use a moisturizing cream on my scar that's three months old and about 5 inches long. It's still a little red but not as itchy and dry as it was. Do you have internal stitches? Maybe you're allergic to the stitches or the antibiotic salve?
My scar is on my arm so it wouldn't get as irritated as yours, it will probably take yours a little longer to heal completely.

I have had many basil cell cancers in my life. After it's removed and it's good and healed my dermatologist inject the scar with something. This helps a lot. Sometimes I need two different injections. I have never had scars as big as yours though. Mine either itch or hurt but after the injections they are fine.
