Cousin was just diagnosed - Cancer: Skin Message Board

My Cousin whom I love dearly was just diagnosed with 3rd stage Melanoma cancer and I am wondering if anyone knows what the chances of survival are. I am hurt deaply by this he is only 31 years old and I feel like there isnt anything I can say or Do.Please Tell me I am not alone and someone has experienced the same thing.....with a happy ending

i was diagnosed with melanoma stage 2 and just recently had a deeper inision about 1 1/2 deep by 2 inches wide approx. it still hasn"t healed up yet and i had my sentinel lymph nodes taken out from under my arm also at the same time. i was lucky my nodes were alright but they take them out anyway because that was where the tumor drained to. i will be on a two year study with my cancer doctor and checked every 3 months. i hope all go well with you, if you get it early you have a excellent chance. good luck rob
