Lump Inside my Lip HELP! I am Scared! - Cancer: Skin Message Board

I have posted my message on the general topics board but never got a reply. Can someone please help me!
I have a small clear bump on the inside of my lower lip. Its been there about a month. I can "pop" it just like a pimple and is sore when I do and a clear thick liquid comes out when I do pop it.
It doesn't stay gone it comes back. I now have another one just like it also on my lower inside lip.
Has anyone else ever gotten these? What are they and what causes them? Please help they really have me worried. They are very small (smaller than pea size).

Call on Monday and make a appointment to have it checked out. I know(from experience) that wondering what it could be might be more scary than just having it checked. You may just have acidic saliva causing them. I use to get mouth sores quite often. Good luck.

Jen, I have something similar to what you are talking about on my lip. It has been there for over a few months now. I thought it was just a spot but it keeps coming back too. Mine makes my lip itch frequently, does yours do the same? Has anyone ever heard of something like this before?

Hey Jen,

More than likely what you have is called a mucous retention cyst. It's not not harmful but could be very irritating. Is it bluish color and or transparent? Does it grow when you aggravate it? If so that's probably what it is. Call your Doctor and if you want you can have it excised (removed).
