These small bright red spots have been apearing on my skin lately. They're not pimples or scabs... they're like freckles but bright red. I first noticed one above my breast but now there are three on my chest and one just suddenly apeared on my forehead. I have never seen anything like this before. Does anyone have any idea what these might be? Could they be cancerous?
It's highly doubtful that it's cancerous if it's just appearing and in multiple locations spontaniously. Maybe sun damaged areas which need to be taken care of but nothing to get too nervous over. You really need to go in for a thorough skin exam with a dermatologist and once given the a-ok, go annually.
Hi Shy One
I've got something which sounds very much like what you're describing. On one of my post-melanoma checkups I asked the dermatologist what they were. She told me they're harmless little blood spots called haemangiomas (maybe USA spelling is hemangiomas). I notice them mainly on my breasts.
