my mole fell off??!!!! - Cancer: Skin Message Board

Im just wondering, I had a mole on the inside of my leg which I had noticed appeared from nowhere, and began to grow and change over the past few months. Last week it started bleeding and scabbing and so I was going to see the doctor about it this week, and then this morning I scratched it and the whole thing just fell off?! Could it still be malignant or would a malignant mole not just fall off??

Is there any sign of it left at all? If there is a sign of it left, then see the doctor anyways. He can still do a punch biopsy of the area and send the tissue in. If there is absolutely nothing there then keep a close watch on it to see if it comes back. If it was bleeding and scabbing, then I'm thinking that maybe there is a scar left of some sort and that should be evaluated by the doctor.
