What is this growth - Cancer: Skin Message Board

My mom had a normal mole on her face and now it is huge. Looks like a big big growth. Its about the size of a peanut m&m. She said it started getting bigger about a week ago and now its just bam! We have a derm appointment on thursday its the soonest they could get her in. Should it be ok until then. She picked at it and now it won't stop bleeding and she says it really hurts. Any thoughts on why this mole just got so big and painful. I hope its not cancer but its scary.

I dont know what to say except I am so thankful that you have her an appt. The bleeding can be controlled by pressure and you can also take "cold wet tea bags" and press on the mole to controll the bleeding. I pray that you get good results for your mom. It's possible it might just be a lesion that has became very irritated and went "hay wire"...Removal completely excised would be the option I would ask for, dont let them just take a "piece' of it. Take all of it off for safe results! Good Luck and God Bless!
