mole removal on face/?'S - Cancer: Skin Message Board

I have a "beauty mark" on my right side like Madonna had. It has lightened quite a bit over the years and I am kind of interested in getting it removed but concerned about getting a scar on my face. Has anyone ever had a mole removed from their face? I plan on going to a dermatologist as soon as I start working in August.

I am actually going to get one removed from my face on the 18th by a plastic surgeon. I first went to a dermatologist, but they referred me to a plastic surgeon because they didn't want to risk scarring. My dermatologist said when it involves the face, you should go to a plastic surgeon.

Exactly what my daughter did. She went to her dermatologist, who then sent her to a reputable plastic surgeon. She had 2 moles taken off her face and one on her chest. Everything went well. I don't think any good dermatologist would take a mole off the face - you need a specialist for that.

Well, I had two removed from my face by a dermatologist and it went very well. No scarring, no problems.
