I have had a slightly darker patch on the side of my face for several months, 4 weeks ago it turned red and had a crust which has now gone. Although it now seems to be fading 2 weeks ago a mole appeared overnight in the same place on the other side of my face. This looks like a normal mole, but is slightly numb. Can moles appear overnight? Iam a 55 year old fair haired, fair skinned female.

I've had moles appear suddenly, and my 48. So, yes they can develop suddenly. I can't tell you if you should be worried or not. I can suggest if this is bothering you to see a doctor or dermatologist. It's one thing for me to tell you something, but a doctor really is your best resource. What you probably have is simply a mole, but it might give you lots of peace of mind to get it checked out.
