Raised bumps on side of nose

I have several raised spots on my nose (5) but two on the right side nostril that have been there about at least a year. These two, flake, and hurt when touched by my fingernail. I have mentioned it to my primary and he said to go to a specialist, I mentioned it to a surgeon in October when I had a hernia repair and he didn't take it serious. What is it about so called doctor's that pass off my concerns? I have a skin cancer screening scheduled for April 4th and I'm afraid of what I'm going to hear and even more so how will I be able to have it treated when we have such poor medical specialists available.

Re: Raised bumps on side of nose

I sure hope you're going to a dermatologist. I had one of those on my forehead and my dermatologist froze it off. Mine felt kind of like a sore little scabby thing that was there for at least a year. I kept thinking it would go away but it didn't. I went back today and had a squamous cell cancerous spot on my chest removed. Don't be too worried. There are 3 types of skin cancer and the first two do not spread as fast as melanoma. Good luck!!

Re: Raised bumps on side of nose

I'm glad you are going to a specialist, hopefully a Dermo Dr. I've had quite a few moles removed, 2 were cancerous and many were just pre so were frozen off. The earlier you catch it the better, as it can be taken care of more easily. I know it feels scary but the sooner you get it looked at the better for you.

Best of wishes...JJ...
