Healing for Shave Biopsy

I just had a question about the healing process for a Shave Biopsy.

I know you are suppose to clean it out twice a day for 2 weeks. I've done that and tomorrow will be the last day where I'll have to do the whole peroxide and polysporin thing. My question is though, there's still a .. I guess, hole? I know that sounds a bit weird lol but there's still that indentation in the skin where the skin/mole was taken. I was wondering if that after tomorrow, do I just put Vaseline on it like they said with no band-aid? I guess I'm just scared it'll get infected. The one on my lower leg I can watch after better but the one on the back of my thigh (upper) is the one I'm concerned about. I sit on it and such, so I don't wanna irritate it and get stuff inside of it - unless nothing really will happen.

I remember last time the one on my back was the same, but after I let it have some air and just put Vaseline on it with no band-aid, it healed nicely. Sure, it's still red but apparently that's pretty normal since it takes 6mnths - 1yr to turn pink or white.

Thanks!

Re: Healing for Shave Biopsy

After 2 weeks, this should be pretty well healed. Enough to go without any sort of band-aid or real fear of infection. Unless you work in an environment that is unsanitary (the only thing I can think of?), you should do okay. I don't think I've ever really bothered about a shave biopsy site after the first week.

Re: Healing for Shave Biopsy

Haha okay! Yeh, I think I'll just put vaseline on it today and that's it.. I ran out of bandaids so - they look fine though so it looks like they'll be just okay.
