Can this be skin cancer?

Ten years back i had a car accident and i went through a lot of stress. One month later, i suddenly developed a brownish black spot on my stomach .
This is how it started .There was sudden pain just below my left rib and next morning i woke up to see a brown spot on the place it had pained . I went to the doc to get it checked .He told me that this spot could have developed because of stress.Over the last ten years i've got it checked by four different doctors and everyone has told me that its not malignant .But even after ten years the spot pains occasionally .
Should i get it checked again or am i being stupid?

I would really doubt that it's skin cancer. Stress or trauma can bring about a lot of changes to the body, both internally and externally. If it were skin cancer and it developed that quickly, 10 years later, it would be giving you some problems, more than likely.

You can always get it checked as many times as you like. And if it truly bothers you, talk to a docter about having it removed.

I am not one to lay in the sun - a brunette - went to dermatologist to check on mole on arm - I mentioned the itchy dry spot I had on top of my head ever since I was bitten by a tick at work - during my lunch time walk - and that was 15 years ago - beauticians, Doctors have seen it - however she looked, said it didn't look right - and I had basil cell on the top of my head - I was quite upset that they would check my whole body out but not my head - but bottom line - I did have basil cell cancer and all is fine - and had many people looking at it thru the years so for me only a biopsy told me what was going on -
