| Scared! how do you know if you might have or get stomach cancer?

I have been on Nexium and other meds on and off for a few years now. Recently I got off Nexium and am trying over the counter Prilosec, then I decided to get off that and go on Zantac over the counter.
Recently even Zantac 75 is not working well, even when trying to change my diet. I will be ok if I eat very bland, but like today I age some mashed potatoes that had some cheese on it, almost instant heartburn.
I am scared, you always hear about stomach cancer or that if you have too much acid reflux it can lead to that. I once had a doctor tell me that it can sometimes lead to stomach cancer. Then I read that you can't always tell from symptoms.
Any thoughts would be appreciated...
