I am 23 and I know testicular cancer is popular at this age, so that is why I ask. Would a regualr family ddoctor be able to tell me if anything is wrong, or do I have to go to a urologist type person? Thanks.
I also forgot to mention, the lump doesnt seem to be part of the testicle itself, but kind of beside it. Not sure if this is an bovious question, but does testicular cancer only happen IN the testicles, or around them as well? |
Hey there,
I see you wrote your question about a month ago but i just saw it today and thought i could help.
Your regular family doctor will be able to examine the lump and only if he thinks it is serious or cancerous would he send you to a specialist like a urologist.
If the lump is beside and moveable, not part of the testicle it ISNT cancerous. As far as i now when you speak or hear of testicular cancer it is in the testicle.
The lump could be a cyst on your epididymis, varicocele, or other benign masses.
If you havent gotten it checked out yet and are still worried then go ask your doc. Dont be embarrassed. If you are worried, a great test is a testicular ultrasound to look for masses in the testicle.
You can check to see if the same structure is on your other testicle too! Keep an eye on it to make sure it doesnt grow and do your monthly testicular exams! Good luck!
