Possibly Throat Cancer?
I'm basically starting to get very scared of the possibility that I may have throat cancer. I don't have too many of the risk factors (never smoked, don't drink often, 24 years old, mild GERD), but I'm still scared of what this could be. Last Fall I started feeling an uncomfortable feeling in the one side of my throat, like I was swallowing something swollen, that would come and go from day to day. Sometimes if I'd burp up some acid, it would burn that entire side of my throat, but not the other side, or at least it feels that way. I thought it may be post nasal drip from allergies. I ended up going to an ENT, who scoped my throat twice, about 2 months ago, and found absolutely nothing. No redness, no swollen areas, tumors, or anything abnormal for that matter. I actually started to feel better, but then about a week ago, when it started getting warm again, all the slight discomfort came back. Then yesterday I woke up with the one side hurting quite a bit, and the swollen feeling back more than ever. I can't see anything, other than a small white spot with some redness near the arch of my throat (I also think I may have scratched that part on a pretzel stick). I can't see the ENT for another month again, and am kinda worried since these symptoms all seem to point to cancer. Could it be possible, even with my non-existent risk factors, other than the fact I'm a male, I don't seem to meet any of them. Or is it possibly really bad post nasal drip on that side. Anyone have any ideas in the meantime before I can see the ENT again, so I don't drive myself too crazy? Or should I actually be legitmately worried? Any help/advice is really appreciated since I'm so on edge about all of this.
