Had Thyroid Cancer and now Breast Cancer
I was diagnosed and was treated for thyroid cancer in early 2005. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 1st of September 2006. Tumor less than 1 cm and node negative. Had Lumpectomy. Awaiting results back from an Oncotype DX and Pet Scan. I'm 57 years old and in pretty good health otherwise but cancer recurrence is a concern of oncologist as well as myself. Has anyone else had the misfortune of having these 2 cancers and how has the breast cancer recovery been?

I'm so sorry that you have been going through so much. Must be frustrating. I can tell that you are a strong person, a caring person. I know that you can get through this. My thoughts are with you.

I can not relate to you, though. I'm sorry. I wish I could be of more help to you.

I did get my results back today from PET Scan & Oncotype DX. Unfortunately, the score for the Oncotype DX put me at high risk for cancer recurrence. My oncologist feels like chemotherapy is the best option at this time. AquaticChic that you so much for your concern and thoughtfulness.
