what happens if you get thyroid cancer for the second time

what happens if you get thyroid cancer for the second time, they have been trying to find something for 3 years because my thyroidglobin is so high, which means it's somewhere in my body...they took out my entire thyroid, if it comes back (15 years later) I heard that the 97% survival rate is way way less. Is this true
