has anyone used medicine mushrooms to get healed of papillary thyroid cancer?
Hi, I am curious to know how you are doing! I pray you had a good Endo. surgeon. I am still waiting for healing or managing my thyroid condition. I also hope you have an advocate or someone who can go to your follow up appointments. Try to keep a log of any symptoms and daily routine. If you get brain fog or loss of concentration let your Dr. know. God bless you!

I had my thyroid out on 3/17/11. The tests afterward did show papillary cancer. It had not spread to my lymph glands. Praise the Lord!! Now I just have to be careful NOT to ingest iodine because that might make the gland grow again...and possibly the cancer to start up again.
Thanks for asking.
I am so glad that you do not have to go through RAI. I will pray that you continue to be cancer free and that your Doctors have compassion and treat you accordingly. You are right to praise the Lord.

I don't think that is correct about not eating iodine. To keep the cancer from coming back, our TSH needs to be very low. I am high risk, so it must be below .1. The synthroid dose keeps it low.
Who told you about iodine? I have had thyroid cancer for 5 years and have read about it and learned a lot and have never heard of that.
I heard from my general practioneer not to eat anything with iodine and I had RAI in December of 2010.
You weren't supposed to eat anything with iodine prior to your RAI treatment, because your body needed to be depleted of it to soak it up.
If you spend the rest of your life not eating iodine, it would be like the diet before your RAI--meaning NO dairy. Your Doctor is very wrong. You can research it yourself and find out. I hope you have an endo who knows more about thyroid cancer.
That makes absolutely no sense, with all due respect. If you read the the guidelines and read the sites endorsed by the thyroid cancer experts, you will find that is not the case at all. It amazes me how physicians who are paid so much can be so ignorant---and we pay for it. You really need to do your own research. It is sooooo easy now. Please help yourself!! Thyroid cancer is not caused by iodine!!!!
