papillary microcarcinoma

Hello, I am new to this site and am trying to get used to the "c" word without freaking out. Had my thyroid removed from a goiter which was 99.9 % free of cancer, but a 4mm tumor found partially in the fatty tissue, no spread indicated.
my surgeon wasn't a fan of RAI, just told me to get checked and I will lead a normal life. One Endocronologists said I am high risk and take RAI, another one said I am low risk but still take RAI. They all said I will be ok but I am still scared.
Very confused and scared of what this RAI will do to my body down the road giving me cancer someplace else.
Any words that can ease my fears would be so helpful. Thanks
