| Cyst or more - is doctor backtracking
Hello everyone
When a doctor calls you at the weekend, you suspect all is not so good as first thought. I saw ENT specialist one Month ago who scoped my throat and said that it looked hypersensitive. He arranged a CT of throat and lungs. The radiologist reported nothing drastic but commented on quote
'small cyst of clinical insignificance' found on thyroid.
My symptoms
Excess mucus in throat, always clearing it. Mucus smells funny like fruit or musty smell. tightness in throat. Flu like symptoms, tiredeness. Other than that no lump to see, slight tenderness to touch. I recently was diagnosed with spinal stenosis throughout spine following MRI just to add to matters.
The ENT suggested drinking more water but that was it, nothing of concern. Two week later I get the phone call. He said that when he saw me his mind was not thinking clearly and he should have organised a follow-up
He says that the picture is the same but there is a possibility that the cyst ( he called it Globus, potentially turn malignant. He called it conginital and could have been there for many years. It needs monitoring. Nww Im referred to a sugeon for advice.
What a turn around, even without further tests that could have changed his oppinion. Im glad he phoned though but he put the fear up me.
what do you all think I should do because he gave me the option for referal to the surgeon and the symptoms do not cease.
Best wishes . have a good day
tony
