Help! Life post-thyroid cancer

I need some serious help. I had my thryroid removed due to cancerous nodules this past November. Since that time it has been a battle to get my levels and medication right. I am just about reached the breaking point of my sanity. I keep gaining weight....at least two pounds every week, so that now I have gained about 15lbs since surgery, with the weight gaining really amping up since January. I also sleep 9 hours every night. I am currently on Synthroid, 125, and Cytomel, twice daily. My TSH level yesterday was .011, well below normal, and by all accounts almost non-existent. My T3 and T4 harmones were within normal range. I exercise regularly, at least 5 days a week, going to a trainer two nights. I just want to feel normal again and for the weight gain to stop!

Re: Help! Life post-thyroid cancer

I'm sorry for what you are going thru. I too felt the same way for quite a while after my TT. It has been 12 years and I still don't feel 100%. It sucks! Keep talking to your doctor, make him/her take you seriously. I ended up going zoloft which help with the weight gain for a while. Good luck to you!
