| question for hurthle cell survivors..
I had a 1.5 cm nodule with minimal invasion back in 2000. Had TT and RAI. Up until this past year I have had my thyroglobulin drawn every 6 months which has been normal and sono of neck once a year. endo always talks about doing additional scanning but always says, maybe next year. This past year has been a hard year for me. I lost my job and health insurance. I go about a week every few months of forgetting to take my synthroid. About a month ago I made some changes to my daily routine and have been taking on a much more regular basis. (200mcg). I have been worried lately that not taking my synthroid as opened the door to recurrance. I need to get to the doc and get my labs drawn but I just cannot afford it. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that has had recurrances after many years of being in remission? My endo always told me that the longer time past the less my chances of recurrance but with hurthle cell I always needed to be monitored.
