I also have (many) nodules, some which have calcification and have for years. From what I read on this site (thank you Reece!), it's not so much an indicator of cancer with thyroid. My internet searches show it can be cause for a second look but don't let it worry you too much. Hopefully you have a good doc you can trust to help you through this. Best wishes!
Thank you for your reply. 8 have one illdefined nodule with calcification, and when you get on the Internet to read on it, it can be quite scary! I will get my results on Monday and my mind has made me a little crazy this weekend
When I had my biopsy done the doctor said my nodule was calcified and not to worry because when it's calcification it usually is not cancerous. Well got my results last year and had to have thyroid surgery because it was cancerous! Hope you have better news! Good luck!
