Anxious about RAI treatment

I am scheduled to have my RAI treatment on 7/22/13 and I was on cytomel for a week and now I am on my two weeks of no medication. Its only my second day off my medication and I am already getting tired during the day - which this could possibly be other things such as stress or just life in general but I guess my question is for anyone that has had this done and went without their meds, when did you start to feel bad. Is it possible that it is from that. I was in bed at 8:30 last night and slept till 6!!!

I also started the low iodine diet on Monday which is going ok for now but I'm sure I will be sick and tired of salads for lunch real soon!

Thanks!

Re: Anxious about RAI treatment

I did it first without meds, next time with thyrogen---boy was that much better and more humane.

I didn't have cytomel so mine was a tough go---it took 3-4 weeks of no meds for the symptoms to kick in---but I was post op---so that was how long it took for all hormone to be out of my system. It was horrid.

Hope this goes quickly and is successful!
