Anyone Ever experienced recurrent uterine cancer? - Cancer: Uterine Message Board

Hi! I am searching for answers. I am 26 and was diagnosed with uterine cancer stage 3c last year. I've had 2 surgeries, one which included a radical hysterectomy and 11 wks radiation internal and extended field radiation external. I've also had 8 chemos. My last one was end of October 03. Lately I have been having pains at the secondary tumor site, which was connected to my pelvic sidewall. It feels just like before my tumors were found. Should I worry? Or could it be scar tissue? I wanted to get advice here, before I tell my doctor, because I know that'll send her into a flutter. Thanks for any advice.

Wow, you poor thing.. you are so young for uterine cancer. I was dx last year also with uterine cancer.. more specifically endometrial adenocarcinoma. We sisters in the land of hyster call what you are going through "cancer head". It's hard to avoid and harder still to get through the waiting while tests are being evaluated. To answer your question, yes.. it can reoccur, but more likely you are dealing with adhesions. Adhesions are almost impossible to avoid and difficult to try to treat since surgery is the only way to cut them away.. it then just generates more of them. Please call the doctor and get a scan. You'll be happier knowing that you had it checked out and if something is there, it's easier to take care of the sooner you find it. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Thanks for you response. Can you feel adhesions through the skin? the reason I'm asking is because I can feel a lump near the middle of my abdomen and also and the secondary tumor site. I go in on June 10th to my cancer doctor, but I just wanted advice before I tell her. Because, she basically does her job, and once I tell her, I know she'll run every test there is to run. I Hope All Went Well With At Your Doctors....can You Tell Me More About Your Cancer How They Found It When You Were First Diagnosed. I Have Endometrium Lining Of 13.5 Mm (1 Week After My Cycle) And They Are Doing A Biopsy Tomorrow - But I Am Only 27 - I Thought Endometrial Cancer Was Usually Found In Older Women...if You Can Help That Would Be Great!!!!
