Hi. for the last few days i have been besides myself.All i can do is think..recurrent endometrial cancer. My gram is 84 yrs. old last spring was diagnosed with stage 1b endo. cancer. he had total abd. hysterectomy with staging and eval. of lymph nodes. Everything came back negative. Per her gynecologic oncologist no radiation needed as it was stage 1b, earlY! well she has been gettign check ups all along along with pap. Her gyn. wanted her to have a ct scan several weeks ago, since it has been about 1 yr since surgery. Well ct scan came back abnormal in colon, she had PET scan and colon and abd. came back normal except for two hot spots one in the cervical vertebra and one in the tracheobronchial area. So..she had ct of chest and bone scan. Ct of chest found one abnormally enhancing 3.6cm anterior carianl lymph node identified consistent with a malignancy. As well as some mesenteric nosularity which they recommend to be followed up with in 3 months. That's it. Bone scan mentioned some uptake in skull andT11 vertebra and suggested an xray of those two areas, as it could be Paget's disease or metasases.

So know im wondering if it was cancer in T11, which didnt show up on PET, i was cervical vertebra, and if it was cancer in skull..lets just say which didnt show up on PET scan, what is the x-ray gonna tell them that the PET couldnt??? I thought Pet was more sensitive?

I know this is long, but im wondering, if cancer activity was found in only the tracheobronchial lymph node, is that good? (AS GOOD AS CAN BE!) AM I RIGHT TO THINK THAT IF NO OTHER SPOTS LITE UP ON THE LUNGS OR OTHER ORGANS THAT HAVING THIS ONE LYMPH NODE LIGHT UP, IS OK? I KNOW IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE, THAT IT'S OK. BUT IM LOOKING AT IT AS...I WOULD RATHER HAVE THAT 1 LYMPH NODE LIGHT UP THAN OTHER ORGANS AND SUCH.

SO..IM THINKING RECURRENT ENDO. CANCER? NO SYMPTOMS WHATSOEVER IN GRANDMA, THIS WAS A FREAK THING FOUND, ONLY B/C THEY DECIDED WHAT THE HECK. THEY WERE ORGINALLY CONCERNED WITH THE COLON, AND NOW ITS THE LYMPH NODE. SHE IS SCHEDULED TO HAVE A LUNG BX NEXT WEEK.

I COULD REALLY USE SOME FEEDBACK!!!! HELP!
