Throat Lump - Cancer Message Board

Next week I am going to be having a Fine Needle Aspiration for a lump in my throat. The Lump seems to be located in the Lower Part of my throat in the center. Its egg shaped Only about 2cm tall and 1.5cm thick. Part of the skin where the lump is located shows a slight discoloration. It's slightly violet. The Lump also has a slight pain when I touch it. The pain is very small. It feels like pinch Part of the lump seems to be attached to my skin. Its not like a normal lump because you can actually grab it on sides. Its more like a rock in my throat if that helps to describe it. Is there any chance at all that this is cancer. Thank you for your help.

I forgot to add that for about the pass 6 years the area where the lump is was has been discolored and the area where the lump is for about the pass 6 years there was always a very tiny lump, It was more of like a pimple like thing very small. But starting about 6 months ago it began to grow and cause pain. Oh ya and some times even when I don't touch it, it causes pain.

Sounds like something related to a 'skin tag' which is a non-cancerous growth. Best to see your doctor to have it removed to prevent any possibility of accidentally injurying it which could cause an infection.

I have NEVER seen a skin tag 2cm Jay Tor also it was mentioned it is under the skin in the throat.. Well I think it may be on or near the Thyroid? I had a lump on the right side of mine that was 2 1/2 cm I had mine removed on May 2 due to Papillary cancer, Do you have any other symtums? Maybe you should pop into the thyroid board and just check it out.. Hope this helps.. God Bless,Mars
