Question Lymph Node Cancer?
Ok..I have had a swollen right gland for about 6 months now..I think it's my gland anyways. It does not hurt at all..but it doesn't move and is hard. I wouldn't even know it's there if I didn't touch it all the time. I do have genital herpes however, but I have been tested for everything else out there and I'm safe. My doctor does not seem concerned about this. Can doctors tell if the gland is serious or not just by feeling it?? Because my doctor keeps telling me not to worry..he is a good doctor..been in the family for over 30 years and has never screwed up. I'm a very healthy person..I take vitamins, exercise all the time. I have no other symptoms of anything..like sleepiness, or weight gain/loss..NOTHING. I feel wonderful. Anyone have any opionions. I think I'm driving my doctor crazy by always asking about this. If it's lymphoma cancer or whatever it's called would I have more symptoms? My blood tests are always normal. Any opinions????

I would get a second opinion. Any unexplained hard lump should be looked at very carefully. You may want to have a needle biopsy done, or a surgical excision, to see exactly what it is.

There are many things it could be besides cancer, such as a fatty tumor. But certainly cancer comes to mind any time there's an unexplained lump, and it needs to be ruled out definitively, which cannot be done through blood tests alone.
