Please help if you can
My sister is 38 and has breast cancer which has metastasized to her lungs and bones. She is currrently taking taxotere and herceptin treatments. She will be going on disability in a few months, but will still have to pay $800 monthly for her insurance and an additional $800 per month for the herceptin, as the insurance doesn't cover all of it. She won't be working and can't afford this. She is now saying that she should just stop the treatments and just die, since that would be cheaper. I am thinking that there has got to be some financial assistance out there for people like her, I just don't know where to start looking. I haven't been with her when she has had her disability meetings, so I don't know if she is confused, or has some bad information or what, but I don't see how someone on total disability could ever afford to pay $1600 per month for just insurance and one medication. She lives in Iowa, if that helps at all. I am worried and want to help her, so I just need some advice. Thanks so much!
