Well that depends on a couple of things: what state you live in and what insurance you have. If you happen to have an HMO and live in California then you have to have the doctor release the files so "other doctors can look at it", which you don't have any control over. If you want the doctor to send your entire medical file to somewhere else (wherever you move to) the doctor has to okay it, which you have no control over either. however, if you want the file bad enough or feel the doctor, for any reason, would withhold some of your medical file, you can always request a "copy" of your ENTIRE medical file which they HAVE TO give you. Of course, if you do it that way YOU might have to pay for every page and image photo to be copied and even pay the nurse or staff member the time it takes them to do it. It's a real pain, but you get it all, and they can't deny you a copy of your file, for ANY REASON. But just keep in mind this i only know for sure in the state of California, i'm not sure about anywhere else.
