prayer request - Cancer Message Board

I am new to this board and my husband has squamous cell cancer in his throat and right lymph nodes.We have been married for 21 years and have a 10 year old son who loves his father very much.Tomorrow he is having his second biopsy and mapping of his cancer.The first biopsy {by another doctor } showed stage three squamous cell cancer and the doctor gave us basically no hope of a cure or remission.We are praying the second biopsy will bring better news.I would like to ask anyone who reads this to pray for us.We live in the Cleveland Ohio area and he goes for surgery at 6:00 am tomorrow at the Cleveland Clinic.Please pray for us...I am very afraid my husband will not make it.My son world would be shattered..... I believe their is hope for your husband. I know stage 4s who have been around for 8 years. There is always hope my dear. Please go to the oral cancer foundation.org. That is where you will find the best information and scientific facts, treatments, stats and stages for his cancer. You will find hope there. There is hope in the Lord who has His hand on everything and who makes the final decision when He so chooses. I do not it that the doctor said that. Shame on him.

Lets pray about it to the heavenly physician and creator. I will pray with you each and every day.

Thank you both very much!!!!! I did go to the Oral Cancer web site and it is a great site.It did seem as if most people had cancer on their tongue or tonsils,mainly in their mouth.But I will keep looking.It is almost time to go to the hospital and I am so scared.......My son was spending the night at a friends house but I had to pick him up because he was too worried about his dad to stay there.Please continue praying as I will be praying hard until the doctor comes to speak with me after the surgery this morning.I am praying for both of you as well.Thank you so much for your support and words of kindness.I will keep you posted.God Bless you ,Deborah

Stage III definitely still leaves room for hope in MY book.
Most important is your husband's fighting spirit - we can support YOU while you kind of mentally lift him up and curl his hands into fighting fists!!!
Keep doing what you're doing - read as much as you are comfortable doing, stop in here as often as you can for support, and let us know how it goes with the surgery, ok?
