A little worryed - Cancer Message Board

About a year ago I hurt my knee and I healed fairly quick but even now every now and then its sore and seems that the leg is very easy to hurt. A few weeks ago I noticed a bump near the place where the injury occured. Now i'm starting to think it may be a tumor and it may be the cause of the pain. Basically I want to know if what i have is cancerous. The knee has been beter lately and often even pain free. At certain times it can get sore or irritated and it seems that it can be hurt easily. I'm a black belt in karate so I found last year I hurt my leg a few times. I was just wondering if it was just a begin tumor or cancer?

Thanks for the reply, I will get it checked out. One question though, so are the chances its not cancerous if its been less painful in the last few weeks and often now is painless?

Also I need a little more advise. Heres the really stupid part of this whole thing. Basically I had a doctors appointment made for the knee pain and I went yesterday. And at the time (and sincce) I had no leg pain. The doctor took a look at the knee but never found the bump (its not very noticeable most of the time) and basically she said I would be fine and I should be okay. The thing is i never corrected her and showed her or told her about the lump. I know i should have but the knee had been pretty good lately so i never bothered. Do think I should make a new appointment right away or give it a week or to to see if the pain comes back. Personally i'm not in a hurry I hurt my knee over a year ago anyway, i doubt a week would kill me.

hey matt i have a question for you..because i have a bump i'm nervous about too. how big is your bump? my bump you could only feel if you pinch the skin a little...is that whats yours is like? anyways good luck

hmmmm something like that. It's big enough to sort of feel it anyway though. If i put my hand on the spot i can sort of feel it a bit anyway
