| Re: Spine Cancer
There are different structures in the spine - in very basic terms, the bones (vertebrae) creating the structure, the viscous discs between them, and the spinal column itself. Often, vertebral metasteses are caused by a primary cancer elsewhere, but there can be primary cancers affecting the spinal cord or vertebrae too.
Given today's treatments, no diagnosis is a death sentence, but it is certainly a serious situation.
I think that you should talk more with your family and/or your aunt to find out what they know. It's important to you, too, since some cancers can be genetically linked, it's important to know your family history. Be well.
