The skin in my nose is getting huge - Cancer Message Board

I always seem to come back here scared of having cancer. Well, I'm scared again. You know the skin on the inner walls of the nostrils? That's been puffed out on the left side for a long time, but I never thought about it until today when I was looking in the mirror. Take a look.

Ignore those black dots; it's just from the camera. But seriously look at that. It goes down straight for a minute, and then explodes out, moreso on the left side. I've seen normal noses, and that line goes straight down to the face.

I was looking at some website that had a list of symptoms of nose cancer. Most of them involved some pretty nasty stuff that I haven't experienced, but of what they listed, I have nasal obstruction, stuffiness, and today at work I went through my first random nosebleed ever.

If anyone knows about this stuff, please let me know. Please don't just tell me to go to my doctor, because I'm sure I'll end up doing that anyways. I'd just like to get some advice from people who know about it first.

It looks fine to me. (I can't believe I just looked - randomly - up a stranger's nose...) You might have a cyst or small abscess. It's no big deal unless it becomes appreciably bigger. If you are constantly stuffy and obstructed... and don't smoke, you might have allergies. Try something over-the-counter and don't worry so much about your nose. If you smoke - QUIT SMOKING! you're stuffy b/c you smoke.

Could this not be a sinus infection? I used to get them, and my nose would swell to two or three times that size, usually on just one side. What does your doctor say?

I've actually never smoked a cigarette in my life. And it's not like I'm "stuffy," persay... but I've been having tons of boogers. I mean huge boogers that just keep coming. The doctors always say that I have cysts, so that could be what it is.
